We're learning how much money the clean-up associated with a red tide outbreak cost counties to our north and it tops a total of $200,000.
St. Lucie and Indian River County officials have just submitted to the state the final amounts they spent on their respective cleanup efforts.
In St. Lucie, more than 101 thousand pounds of dead fish were removed from a nearly 5 mile stretch of water back in October, with the total cost being over $82,000. Indian River County's cleanup cost over $120,000 to remove 161 thousand pounds of dead fish from 22 miles of shoreline.
It's not known how long it might take for the counties to be reimbursed.
