In Palm Beach County, we’re approaching the peak of the 2018 sea turtle nesting season! That means more… and more… and MORE nests and hatchlings will soon be found on our local beaches! As of today our current nest count is 138 leatherbacks, 3,674 loggerheads and 12 greens for a total of 3,824 nests!! Be sure to read up on our top nesting season tips: marinelife.org/nesting-18

JUPITER, Fla. (CBS12) — There are dozens of tiny new creatures swimming around in the Atlantic.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center shared a video of a squadron of turtle hatchlings running for the ocean.

According to research experts at Loggerhead, there are more than 3,800 nests in Palm Beach County. Most are for loggerhead turtles. But there are 138 nests for leatherbacks and 12 nests for green turtles so watch your toes when walking along the beaches.
