Football League Commissioner: Donation Collection Scam Underway

An amateur football league is warning that if you come upon someone at an intersection claiming to be collecting money for their organization, don't give them anything.

People are stationed on roadways throughout South Florida, asking for money in the name of one of their football teams, but the commissioner of the Florida Football Alliance says raising money at intersections is a safety hazard and he doesn't advocate anyone giving them money.

The league has a team in Palm Beach County, called the Palm Beach Makos, and they're based in Riviera Beach.
