(Fort Lauderdale, FL) - The Salvation Army of Broward is suffering a major food shortage as spiking prices are driving down donations and increasing demand.

Spokesman David Hayton says the pantry is now straining to serve more than 11-hundred families monthly.

If you can afford to help, you are asked to please donate either cash or food to the Salvation Army Broward.

Most needed items: cooking oil, dried and canned goods, shelf-stable milk and cheese, and cereal.

A food distribution day is planned for the morning of May 16th at 14-45 West Broward Blvd.
